Vertigo

There are many causes and diagnosis out there that may result in you being dizzy or having vertigo. One main diagnosis that we can treat is called BPPV. This is an dysfunction relating to the crystals in our inner ear. Physiotherapy can have an amazing effect on treating this disorder. Along with Mat’s knowledge on the nervous system through his expertise in migraines, he can offer you a comprehensive assessment and point you in the right direction.

  • Your physiotherapist will manoeuvre you through certain positions in a safe manner to assess and then treat the condition.
  • The different positions are aimed at re-aligning the crystals within the inner ear back to their normal state.
  • Depending on the severity of the condition, you may only require one session. Sometimes 2-3 sessions may be needed.
  • You may be fixed within one session
  • If you are taking medication for the symptoms, you may not have to take these anymore.
  • Vertigo/Dizzy symptoms can be very complex and hard for health professionals to diagnose, this assessment will help narrow things down and get you closer to identifying your condition.
