No, you don’t need a referral to see a physiotherapist at Head Neck and Spine Physio. However, some private health insurance providers may require a referral for rebate purposes, so it’s best to check with your provider.

During your first visit, we will conduct a thorough assessment to understand your condition and medical history. This includes a physical examination and a discussion about your symptoms and goals. Based on this assessment, we will develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Initial appointments typically last around 45 minutes, while follow-up appointments are usually 30 minutes, depending on the treatment required.

Payment and Insurance

Yes, we accept most private health insurance plans. Please bring your insurance details to your appointment, and we can process your claim on the spot through HICAPS.

We accept cash, EFTPOS, and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard). Payment is required at the time of service.

Certain physiotherapy services may be covered by Medicare under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan. Please consult your GP to determine if you are eligible for this program. This is typically referred to as an EPC or Care plan.

Yes, we offer discounted rates for seniors and students. There may also be discounted rates for some partnered private healthcare funds such as Bupa. Please speak to us to get more information on pricing.

We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. This allows us to offer the appointment slot to other patients in need. A cancellation fee may apply for late cancellations or no-shows.

We strive to ensure continuity of care, so you will typically see the same physiotherapist for each appointment. If your regular therapist is unavailable, we will arrange for another qualified therapist to continue your treatment.
